Performance
The 2019 Atlas has V6 engine, four-wheel independent suspension, and one smooth eight-speed automatic jams this hefty full three-seater gain traction and keep it on various roadways and conditions. The 3.6 liter engine with 276 horsepower has this bigger SUV a good buy for any family that needs lots of room. For a larger vehicle we notice how surprisingly quiet the interior is - a standout feature. Towing capacity is 5,000 pounds. The Atlas may feel a bit sluggish off the line, but things pick up quickly, at least if you ordered the 276 horsepower 3.6liter V6. Handling is exactly what you would expect from VW--sporty, agile behavior.
Fuel Economy
24 highway miles, 17 city miles and 19 combines miles According to the federal government, the 2019 Atlas gets 19 miles per gallon overall, 17 city and 24 highways. The Atlas uses 5.3 gallons of gasoline to reach a hundred miles. We found the Atlas to be something of a gas guzzler.
The Car
The 2019 VW Atlas V6 is a strong contender in the three-row SUV category. This polished SUV is quiet and cultivating, yet it is a V6 workhorse and can carry the load for families and is a bigger cargo hauler. Many writers referred to the acceleration being good, but not as lean as some of the leaders in the pack. In its second year, Volkswagen has aggressively introduced the following technology features as standard, a bold move: blind spot monitoring, rain-sensing windshield wipers, pedestrian detection, rear cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and automatic emergency braking. Remote Power Liftgate for ease in getting in and out of back.

Lastly, the Atlas has almost 21 cubic feet of space behind the last row. When the third row is collapsed and folded down, there is a highly impressive and leading category 55 cubic feet of space in this model.
For quite some time, VW has had a struggle with putting together its wagons and SUVs because of size, price, looks, and tough competition. But this time around, VW has quite a competitive entry in the mid-sized SUV segment with the Atlas. It's perfect for families, and the quality of its interior suggests that you're driving something way more expensive than you are piloting in reality. Strong performance an acceleration, tons of cargo space, and the aforementioned interior all add up to a highly competitive product.

Technology
Lots and loaded technology on this year's 2019 Atlas V6 SE. It is with ease that we were able to integrate the Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Mirror Link. 8" Toutch screen we found intuitive with navigation. Bluetooth. Three (3) USB Ports. Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring. Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Pedestrian Detection. Rearview Camera. Sirius® Satellite and HD Radio. 12-Speaker Feder Stereo for a complete and utter 360 in-stereo sound. Push Start. Proximity Keyless Entry and Remote Start for Cold and Warm Days.

Digital Cockpit is very innovative versus competitors in this space - click the link to watch how this allows for driver customization. Adaptive Cruise Control. Active Blind Spot. Lane Keeping Assist. Hill start Assist.
We think the SE is great for everyday use. It comes with simulated-leather upholstery, push-button start, a power driver's seat, heated front seats, rear sunshades, three-zone automatic climate control, a larger 8-inch touchscreen interface, Car-Net subscription services, and the option of captain's chairs in the second row. If you need a bit more, take a look at the SE with Technology, which was what we tested.

In addition to getting all the other SE goodies, you will also get as standard equipment remote engine start, a power rear liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and an active blind-spot monitor.

The lavish life for Atlas owners begins with the SLE, which has as standard equipment, panoramic sunroof, LED taillights, a power-adjustable front passenger's seat, a heated steering wheel, a hands-free rear liftgate, park distance control, an upgraded touchscreen display with navigation, and the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. Digital Cockpit is a display that replaces the standard gauge cluster with a reconfigurable video screen that shows a wide variety of information beyond basic speed, fuel and temperature readings.
Aesthetics & Styling
Supported by sleek and study 18" alloy wheels, this 2 year model is making noise with many safety and technology upgrades. Attractive LED headlight and daytime running lights, either side of this muscular three-seater is framed by heated, power adjustable side mirrors with integrated turn signals. Silver roof rails add bold lines throughout the length of the body.

Three zone climate control and for those in the seconds seats as well, with vents for all three rows. Heated, 10 way power driver sear wit lumbar support for the longer rides. The second row has a 60/40 split-folding and folds flat, slides and reclines with armrest, third row sear has 50/50 split-folding and also folds flat. Seats have an attractive, easy glide leatherette surface.

Volkswagen creates a clean, brisk design interior that is spacious and broad in the 2019 Atlas V6 SE. Everyone has plenty of arm and leg room in the Atlas. Panaramic moonroof and shades on back windows go up and down. Dashboard is well laid out and knobs are well laid out and within reach, and easy to grab on to. We like this on a big car.
You will not be able to distinguish this SUV from countless other boxes on the road. That's a pity. Where are the interesting looking SUV's? For the most part, they are in their grave. The interior is quite well done and is up to the high standards that Volkswagen has set for being one of the world's best automotive interior designers. And that alone makes the Atlas well worth its price compared with other SUVs with far lesser-looking interiors, never mind its solidity, good performance, sound engineering and other sterling qualities.
