Loved driving the new 2018 Lexus RX 350L seven seater in the foot hills and into the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The acceleration of the 290 horsepower from the 3.5 liter 24 valve V6 engine powers this premium SUV and has it handle like a jewel. Excellent ride, acceleration and responsiveness. | Power comes from a 3.5 liter, 290 horsepower V-6, with an eight speed automatic transmission and Drive Mode Select. |
Fuel Economy | |
18 city miles/25 highway miles/21 combination miles. | Fuel economy is rated at 21 miles per gallon overall with ratings of 18 and 25 for city and highway driving respectively. |
The Car | |
The 2018 Lexus RX 350L supported by 20" Dark Silver Alloy Wheels has pristine wood interior trim, luxurious leather seats, cooled and heated seats, lumbar for back support, adjustable driver and passenger seats, power tilt steering wheel, and a slide sunroof. This year an additional 4+ inches have been added to the vehicle. The 7-seater is available also in the hybrid, RX 450hL. The 7-seater was roomy for the front and ample space for those in the rear. It was a little tight in the middle row and all 3 passengers were small in frame and under 5'9". Opting for the captains chairs as a 6 seater may be a better choice for some. Note: If you are not using the third row seats, put them down as the alarm system is highly senstitive, and will beep non-stop if it senses any weight on the seats (package, luggage) and is in an "up" position. Also -- no spare tire included. |
This RX 350L is no slowpoke SUV/crossover at all. Styling and comfort creatures leave Lexus taking no prisoners in the mid-luxury category. The really cool part of it is that you can enjoy all of with the most intimate, cockpit design interior. It totally wraps around the driver and you do feel deliciously set apart from your passenger who, of course, is enjoying his or her own little world with utter silence, a kick-butt stereo system, and buttery soft, infinitely adjustable heated and ventilated leather seats. But styling isn't the only reason why I say is a product of the future. You should see the list of high technology features it offers either as standard equipment or optional at extra cost. Really, try as I might, I couldn't find a single problem with the RX 350. The "Pursuit of Perfection" brand continues. Case closed. |

Aesthetics & Styling | |
While the vehicle has less cargo room than its luxury rivals, it is a best buy with its outstanding ride, performance, and the many tech and safety features as well as the price. This Lexus 6 or 7 seater will go up against any rival in the premium SUV category. The excellent design and profile of the RX 350L SUV provide universal appeal and a forward, advanced offering that competes at the top of the class. Simply a great offering. |
What's really interesting is that the RX 350L's silhouette is designed to look dramatically different from almost any angle - and it succeeds quite nicely at that. Shadowing, creasing and other styling tricks make the chameleon-like design stand out. So many nuanced points of exterior interest you will never be bored by it. |
