Performance | |
Overall handling, braking and acceleration are all responsive to the rouch. We like the way the vehicle feels on the road, although it does left you feel the bumps and bruises when you go over them on the 17' graphite finish alloy wheels. But as an entry level sedan, that is not out of the ordinary. | Quite scintillating, actually. On the highway, it holds the road like a champ, and the steering and brakes are extremely responsive. Power comes from a 2.0 liter multi-port injection four cylinder engine. The Forte is rivalled only by the Mazda3 and Volkswagen Golf in terms of sheer performance and driving joy in the compact car field. |
Fuel Economy | |
Definitely outstanding fuel economy with 34 mpg overall, 30 city miles and 40 highway. | Fuel economy rating is 30 city, 45 highway and 34 miles per gallon overall. The Forte uses 2.9 gallons per 100 miles driven, and you save $1,500 in fuel costs over five years compared to the average new vehicle. Annual fuel cost is $1,100 based on driving 15,000 miles annually for five years, using gasoline costing $2.55 a gallon. |
The Car | |
This fully redesigned 2019 Kia Forte is a best buy in its classification of compacts. Its value, tech and safety features, layout and spaciousness, makes this model at the top of the list for those looking to check off the boxes of value, good looks and economy. The cabin area can be a vacuum for noise, however. | The Kia Forte is full of surprises, from its comprehensive and easy to use instrument panel and the almost overwhelming amount of information that you can get as you enjoy the car. Its styling is streamlined and aggressive, and for once, here's a compact car that can match its look with its performance. |

Aesthetics & Styling | |
We like the redesign adding space to this good sized compact, inching it ahead of others in its class. Having so many standard safety features is a big plus. Attractive inside and out. The vehicle is assembled in Mexico. | High scores here. The interior has substantial quality to it, and the materials are all presented attractively. There are plenty of soft touch spots wherever you need it, too. We had no problem with room in the back seat, though some think it's a bit cramped. The look is pretty contemporary and athletic, and I'm sure you won't mind that it looks an awful lot like the highly sought after Kia Stinger high performance sedan. |
