| This years' Ford Fusion Titanium midsized Hybrid is powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, and there is plenty of get up and go in this model. No issue at all. Corners and turns are well handled by a responsive, poised vehicle. Braking, we found, was responsive and brisk. | The 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that with an electric motor that's powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. Combined, they can generate as much as 188 horsepower to drive the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The result is a car that drives quite briskly on the road--never, ever an acceleration problem anywhere. It has a rugged, stable ambiance to both the handling and the ride. It just plain feels good and fills you with confidence. My first choice for a hybrid mid-sized car this year. |

| The Ford Fusion's Platinum trim has a distinguished, eminent style to it. You could put a different logo other than the blue "FORD" with the upsale leather seating, and other touch points in this car. The hybrid is an outstanding vehicle to drive. Good seating in the front with 10 positons in the drivers side, excellent lines and an open, spacious cabin - the rotary gear shift adds to this. Heated and cooled seats, ahhhh. And, we appreciate the extra quiet cabin, too. The one drawback is the backseat space which is a tad bit tight; not the place to be for tall persons as the roof has a deeper countour to it. But to be clear, 3 small children can easily fit back there, no worries. The SYNC 3 infotainment system is easy to learn and use. It includes service for five years. We like the use of knobs to the climate and music that are in the center stack. Rather than "pressing your way through a menu screen" simply change the knob in an #oldschool manner. |
The big--and welcome--- news is that Ford has done away with the troublesome MyFord Touch system, and replaced it with a vastly improved and more driver friendly Sync 3 system infotainment interface. Fusion has also joined the move with other cars to the use of a new rotary transmission selector and push-button engine start. The Fusion Hybrid ranks with the best of the bunch. It's a beautiful, well built car that feels as solid as a tank. It drives like a sporty, fun to drive sedan, and except for the tough visibility because of its sloping roofline, has no flaws to speak of. Head and shoulders above the competition! |

It has the usual complement of air bags,, an anti-theft system and other attractive features. You get antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, a rearview camera, front seat side airbags, front knee airbags and side curtain airbags. The standard Ford Sync system includes an emergency crash notification feature that pairs to a compatible cell phone and automatically dials 911 when you've been in an accident. If you have teen drivers, you will be grateful for the standard Ford's MyKey, system which can be used to set certain parameters for new, young drivers. Optional equipment that you may want to consider include parking sensors, inflatable seatbelts in the rear seat and a variety of electronic driver-assist systems. The latter include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, driver drowsiness detection, and lane-departure warning and intervention (it automatically helps the driver keep the car in its lane). There is also a Frontal Collision Warning system with Pedestrian Detection and Brake Priming. |

You can order the Ford Fusion Hybrid is available in four trim levels: S, SE, Titanium and Platinum. The base S trim comes well-equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, full power accessories, a rearview camera, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, two configurable driver information displays, a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, audio and phone voice commands (Sync), Bluetooth connectivity, a 4.2-inch central display screen, smartphone app integration and a nine-speaker sound system with a CD player, auxiliary audio jack and USB port. The SE adds exterior LED accent lights, exterior keypad entry, rear air vents, an eight-way power driver seat (with power lumbar), a six-way power passenger seat, a rear seat center armrest and satellite radio. You still have ways to gussy up the SE. The Appearance package (Equipment Group 601A) adds 18-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, foglights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and contrasting interior stitching. The Luxury package (Equipment Group 602A) includes full LED exterior lighting (headlights, taillights and foglights), auto-dimming mirrors, heated mirrors, chrome exterior trim, keyless entry and ignition, remote engine start, leather upholstery, heated front seats and driver memory settings. If you get the SE Technology package, you will enjoy rear parking sensors, the Sync 3 electronics interface, an 8-inch touchscreen, enhanced voice controls, an 11-speaker audio system, a 110-volt power outlet and a second USB port. The Titanium gets you the SE's optional features listed above as standard, as well as sport front seats, eight-way power adjustment for the passenger seat and an upgraded Sony 12-speaker audio system with HD radio. The SE (with the Technology package selected) and Titanium can also be equipped with a navigation system, adaptive cruise control with pedestrian detection, a collision mitigation system and an automated parallel- and perpendicular-parking system. The SE and Titanium also offer the available Driver Assist package, which includes automatic wipers, automatic high-beam headlight control, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning and intervention. A sunroof is optional for both the SE and Titanium, and the Titanium can be had with ventilated front seats. |

| The universal styling and design of the 2017 Ford Fusion is a winner. It continues to delight and be received as a best buy. Designers modify and adjust nicely by taking out what isn't working like the MyTouch and replacing it with the Sync 3. As easily, the luxurious touches in this Titanium line set it apart. Attractive warranty adds value to the car and seperates it from much of the competition. Well done, Ford. | This is a beautiful car no matter how you look at it. This design is several years old now and has held up quite nicely. Ford has restyled front end for 2017 with a new look for the grille, lower fascia and headlights. I think the Fusion has enough presence and heft that it really looks and feels like a full-sized car, and I really wonder why Ford continues to offer the slightly larger Taurus, a good car, but the Fusion outshines it by quite a bit. |
