| The 2017 Nissan Sport is one of the best selling and highly recommended small SUV's. Coming with a 2.0 liter 4 cyliner engine it boasts a small but mighty 141 horsepower which is what is needed to get around town and highway travel when needed. The Automatic Continuously Variable Tansmission (CVT) is standard. Surprisingly, the Sport is a fairly quiet performer. Handling is quite responsive and maneuverability is nimble. The independent rear suspension helps provide passengers a great, comfortable ride. | Power comes from a 141 horsepower, 2.0 liter four cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. I found the Rogue Sport to be rather sprightly in everyday driving and quite capable of holding its own on the highway. I was frankly surprised to read reviews elsewhere that suggested that the car was underpowered and sluggish. I found nothing of the sort. It handles better than the larger Rogue, which itself is a pretty good handler. The Rogue Sport also relished going around corners, and steered quickly and precisely as well. The ride is sporty and rugged feeling. |

| The Nissan Rogue is the #2 best selling SUV in the USA. The design, comfort, price and amenities all add up to making it so. The 2017 Rogue Sport is a a brand-new model within this space and it delivers and checks many criteria. While not a surging power-house, the Rogue Sport has plenty of space, cargo area and back seat room, even though there is no third row. There is 61.1 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded which they do easly 60/40. This model has the smart Divide-N-Hide cargo allocation for discrete storage under the floor of the vehicle. The leather wrapped adjustable steering wheel makes for personalization for each driver in the family. The design and materials used inside are all quality and suitable. There are many compaints on the infotainment sytem with the touch screen lacking responsiveness. Sport seats are heated. Love that a spare tire - nice inclusion, Nissan! Everybody knows that the subcompact SUV market is a blazing one, and the Rogue Sport represents the company quite well. It was known as the Qashqai in Europe, and Nissan decided it wanted to get in on market fun in the U.S. with it. How does it compare to your regular Rogue? Figure about a foot less than the bigger Rogue, and there isn't a third row seat offered. Wheelbase wise, it is about 2.3 inches shorter than the Rogue, which makes for both good handling and really sporty looks from the side profile.
It is sleek and looks muscular and rugged, and its interior is easily equivalent--maybe even better--than some of its competitors. The back seat is rather cramped, but in terms of driving fun, utility, value for the money and just an all around really cool drive at very little cost--the Rogue Sport ranks pretty high with me. The only featuyre that drove me crazy was the tailgate opening mechanism. You grope and still don't get the button until you crouch down and look for ity. And even when you find it, it doesn't open promptly and you have to try repeatedly before it finally does open. But overall, I loved it. And I look for it to be a very strong seller for Nissan. |

Standard features for the Rogue Sport S include 16-inch steel wheels, cloth upholstery, 60/40-split folding rear seats, a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, a 5-inch infotainment display, and a four-speaker CD player with USB input and satellite radio. The SV trim gets you standard items like 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, automatic headlights, keyless entry and ignition, a cargo management system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-way power driver seat and a six-speaker audio system. The top-of-the-line SL trim includes 19-inch wheels, automatic high beams, foglights, heated mirrors, remote start, a hands-free liftgate, leather upholstery, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, a universal garage door opener, a 7-inch touchscreen, a surround-view camera system, NissanConnect emergency and convenience telematics, Siri Eyes Free iPhone control and a navigation system. Some of the top-level features are also available on the S and SV trims as options. The SL Premium package adds a sunroof, LED headlights, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The SL Platinum package adds adaptive cruise control with forward collision mitigation and pedestrian detection as well as lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. | The sturdy, strapping 2017 Rouge Sport is a looker. The details of the sleek headlights and lines from thefront through the rear of the vehicle, to the roof rails, make it stand out. The designer element of the aluminum threaded throughout, adds an active appeal. The multi dimensional design of the grille adds to the vehicle's uniquenss in the category. There are no paddle shifters on this Sport; a feature being eliminated from most smaller SUV's in general. A Telling story here, as paddle shifters are proboly not used by the demographics purchasing an SUV. So no problem here; put the money into other features and technologies. Or, pass the savings on. |
Inside, the Rogue Sport stands out with nice quality, well-designed seats, plenty of room upfront, and a dash that will remind you of the well-regarded Rogue. The two tone interior theme as well as the tasteful use of aluminum and other materials make for a pretty terrific place to be. The flat bottomed, nice to grip steering wheel really stood out for me as well. Outside, its low slung, muscular profile and sporty elegance really stand out in a market segment in which a number of makes look as though they would topple over with the first strong wind. |
